Job Description

 

As our Human Resource Manager (HRM), you will manage all aspects of HR.  You will play an important role in people and culture management, talent acquisition, and payroll.  You will work closely with the accounting and senior management, reporting to the Director of Operations.  You will have a voice to affect change in our growing company.  You will need solid technical human resources experience to contribute to our strong culture and execute our strategic plan of growing the business of the residential solar panels industry.

 

You will work out of our corporate office in American Fork, Utah while supporting all of the Blue Raven Family across the nation.  We are currently operating in 9 different states from coast to coast, with more to follow.  Our growth as a company requires a team player who can ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness while not compromising our fun, positive, inclusive culture of collaboration and hard work.  We are hoping that you can grow with us in this long-term position.

 

The HRM’s responsibilities include Organizing and managing payroll and benefits, serving as project manager for moves, new hires, and exits, and providing overall human resource support to our employees. Previous human resources and benefits experience is required. A successful HRM will have experience with a variety of software to include HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite tools to seamlessly manage all HR and administrative duties.

 

Responsibilities

 

The HRM’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages all daily Human Resource responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements (FMLA, COBRA, AA, ADA, ADEA, etc.)
  • Help with recruiting for vacant positions
  • Ensures that all background checks on candidates are performed prior to employment
  • Coordinates the on-boarding and orientation training for all new employees
  • Administers all benefits and compensation programs, including the performance evaluation process
  • Advises, coaches and mentors all staff and management on employee relations matters
  • Maintains strong relationships with corporate and field employees
  • Address employee queries regarding office management issues
  • Creates and implements policies, procedures, initiatives, and compliance practices with guidance from legal
  • Maintains employee handbook
  • Ensures accurate entry of employee file information into payroll and other systems as required
  • Supervises an administrative assistant/receptionist
  • Processes employee payroll information: garnishments, changes in employee status, salaries, etc.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all employee information and records
  • May include coordinating with admin teams on in-house/off-site activities

 

 

Requirements

 

A successful HRM will already possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources or related field
  • 3-5 years in Human Resources, including roles in management
  • In-depth knowledge of employment practices, benefits and payroll, employment relations experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving, and creative thinking skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work with attention to detail
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and proactively recommend solutions
  • Recruiting background in a start-up like environment
  • Prior technology and/or startup industry recruitment experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to handle high level of discretion with confidential material
