Solar Tax Credits in Oregon

Qualifying for the Oregon Solar Tax Credit

All of our customers qualify for the U.S. federal tax credit (it’s technically called the Investment Tax Credit). Oregon customers qualify for a state tax credit in addition to the federal credit.

The Oregon solar tax credit offers up to $6,000 for your residential solar system. This credit is set to expire in 2017, so if you are an Oregon resident, don’t delay your solar purchase. Credits must be submitted on or before December 31, 2017. Below are instructions for your submission.

Oregon State Tax Credit Instructions

To claim the OR State Tax Credit, use the instructions below.

Here are some brief helpful instructions to guide you through the form:

After the final inspection by your city, a certified tax credit technician who work with Blue Raven will come by to review your system.

Within 3 days, the technician will send a tax credit application to you via email from an online portal called PowerClerk.

The application requires you to e-sign and fill in some personal information.

Once you sign the form from PowerClerk, the Oregon Department of Energy will review it and e-mail you your tax credit certificate within 3-5 days.

Once you have your certificate, you need to wait 7 days before applying for the tax credit when you file. This is the amount of time the Department of Energy takes to transfer the credit approval to the Department of Revenue’s system.
